Cosy and Bohemian: ETRO Pre-Fall 2022 Collection

ETRO is back. This time, the brand presented its latest Pre-Fall collection lookbook with charming prints, free spirited yet sophisticated clothing items.

Creative Director Veronica Etro presented her latest ETRO Pre-Fall 2022 Collection lookbook titled “Nordic New-Normal”.

Set on wintry landscapes the brand’s prints were inspired, and so was the use of colour throughout. Moreover, there were lots of layering pieces: ponchos, capes, pyjama suits, robes and blankets, which added a certain cosiness to this collection.

The intarsia and crocheted knitwear touches gave the loungewear-inspired ensembles a sophisticated craftiness.

Veronica said she did not want to link the lineup to any specific country or culture. “It’s like a celebration of everything Nordic,”. For that, the brand explored a charming combination of winter whites matched with vibrant shades, from orange and yellow to green and turquoise. Moreover, it presented knitwear with fringed robe coats, maxi ponchos layered on denim outfits and hoodies trimmed with passementerie, all with ETRO’s signature while bringing a dramatic twist to them.

For this young and gender-fluid campaign, Veronica focused on taking her family’s legacy a step further but keeping its style to the full: charming prints, free-spirited yet sophisticated. “It’s about constantly elaborating and expanding our lexicon of wanderlust and bohemia with newness and a fresh ésprit,” she said. “I like to be challenged.”

The lightweight turtlenecks are layered under cool pinstriped suits. There were also jacquard knitted sets with young vibes and chic quilted jackets in printed floral silk linings, chic caftan dresses, loose-fitting pyjama suits, loungewear-inspired robes and kimono jackets.

Military jackets with maxi pockets were also present, mainly in mannish cargo pants. The Etro’s signature maxidresses were featured prints, giving the pieces an airy, breezy feel.

As regards accessories, the brand included knitted collars to under jackets and ponchos to embroidered belts, full of “a folk feeling”. Boots highlighted the cosy, versatile look spirit of this appealing collection.
