4 Fashion Trends That Went Viral During Copenhagen Fashion Week

Copenhagen came to an end and left a lot to talk about it, especially in terms of new fashion trends. The Danish capital established itself as the most preeminent fashion week in terms of trendsetting prowess, street style photography, minimalism and sustainability, and each season goes from strength to strength. That’s why, Copenhagen Fashion Week is becoming the must-attend event on the global fashion calendar.
Copenhagen Fashion Week is an explosion of new trends, and the spring/summer 2022 collections are no exception. Brands such as Ganni, Gestuz, Samsøe & Samsøe, Baum und Pferdgarten or Stine Goya graced the runway with their designs, offering a wealth of inspiration, both visual and ideological, this season. Here are a few examples of the four trends that most influenced the Scandinavian runways this season.
Trend 1: Denim
Patchwork, silver finish and destroyed details: eye-catching denim is not only one of the most seen Scandinavian trends, but has definitely reached cult status after the spring/summer 2023 fashion shows in Copenhagen. Baum und Pferdgarten shows us low rise jeans with light colored panels, Opéra Sport has medium blue jeans with patch pockets and stitching, and Wood Wood presents the perfect ensemble of deconstructed denim jacket and denim skirt.

Trend 2: Lace up
Laces everywhere! Of course, there are many tie-ins involved with this trend, as it brings versatility to your style. Brands like Division and Jade Cropper applied this trend in most of their garments. Also Opéra Sport went for blouses, tops, skirts and dresses with tie details, while Roege Hove also included ties but with extra long laces.

Trend 3: Grey
Gray becomes one of Scandi’s favourite colours to wear. We saw it on designs during CPHFW and we definitely loved it! Designers like Sophia Rae at The Garment and Skall Studioare asking us to style our gray trousers with a casual white tank top. Instead of the little black dress, consider a little gray dress instead.

Trend 4: Classics
Creative designers asked us to invest in the classics but don’t limit ourselves. Classics never
have to stop your creativity., for sure! They can be worn in different ways, but of course, they
depend on your imagination in how to style them.
During CPHFW Spring/Summer 2023, we could see cropped trench coats with curved shoulders,
denim jackets that were layered yet streamlined, and white poplin shirts that weren’t really
white poplin shirts.
